RARE PAIR OF FAN-BACK WINDSOR SIDE CHAIRS FROM A MAKER WHOSE FORMS ARE, AS OF YET, UNPUBLISHED. ALTHOUGH ATTRIBUTED TO A SHEPARDSTOWN, VIRGINIA MAKER BY THEIR FORMER OWNER I BELIEVE THEY ARE MORE LIKELY FROM THE BALTIMORE AREA WITH IMPLICATIONS OF DROPPED TABLETS BELOW THEIR SEAT RAIL AS WELL AS CENTRALIZED MEDALLIONS ON THEIR FRONT STRETCHERS AND CENTER VERTICAL SPINDLES. BOTH EXHIBIT UNTOUCHED, ORIGINAL SURFACES. EACH HAS IT'S ORIGINAL RED PRIMER UNDERCOAT YET ONE IS IN AN OXIDIZED WINDSOR BLUE AND THE OTHER IN A SPANISH BROWN. A TRULY RARE FIND!
